Schema Markup Validator

Paste a URL. We fetch the real page and check what structured data is actually present — no external API, this runs entirely on our in-house crawler.

What This Tool Actually Checks

Structured data is the clearest, most direct way to tell an AI system what your business actually is, without asking it to infer facts from prose it might misread. This tool checks the real, foundational schema types that matter for nearly every business, using the same in-house crawler behind our full product.

Organization or LocalBusiness schema states your core identity - name, address, business type - in a form every AI system reads identically. FAQPage schema makes genuine question-and-answer content machine-readable, and independent research has found pages with it appear meaningfully more often in AI-generated answers. BreadcrumbList schema clarifies where a page sits in your site's real structure. Article schema applies specifically to blog posts and article-format content, not general business pages.

How the Validation Actually Works

This isn't a text search for a keyword like 'schema' somewhere in your page source. The tool fetches your real, live page, extracts every JSON-LD block, and genuinely parses it as structured data - confirming it's syntactically valid and correctly typed, not just present. A schema block with a missing comma or bracket fails to parse, and is correctly reported as absent even though the code technically exists on the page - because a broken block is exactly as useless to an AI system as no block at all.

The Real Mistakes We See Most Often

Invalid JSON syntax is the single most common real issue - a copy-paste error or a manual edit that breaks the block silently, often invisible in normal visual review since the schema doesn't render anything a human sees. The second is schema that was implemented once and never updated as real business details changed - an old address or a discontinued service still sitting in structured data long after it stopped being true. The third is applying the wrong schema type - Article schema on a static service page, for instance - which is inaccurate structured data rather than a genuine improvement.

What This Tool Doesn't Check

This validator covers the four foundational types nearly every business needs. It doesn't check Service, Product, or Review schema, which apply more specifically depending on what your business actually does - our full, free AEO Score tool covers all of these together, alongside on-page fundamentals and AI crawler access, if you want the complete picture in one real scan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this tool only check Organization, FAQ, Breadcrumb, and Article schema?

These four are the schema types that matter for nearly every real website. Service, Product, and Review schema (which our full AEO Score tool also checks) only apply to specific business types - this standalone validator focuses on the universal foundation first.

My schema shows as 'Missing' but I definitely added it - what's wrong?

The most common real cause is invalid JSON syntax inside the script tag - a missing comma or bracket makes the entire block unparseable, so it's treated as absent even though the code is technically present on the page.

Does this tool check if my schema is actually correct, or just present?

Both, to a real degree - it parses the actual JSON-LD and confirms it's valid, structured data of the expected type, not just a text search for a keyword like 'FAQPage' anywhere in the page source.

Can I check a competitor's website with this tool?

Yes - any public URL works. Seeing what schema a competitor actually has (or doesn't) is a genuine, honest way to understand a real gap in your own market.

Does having all four schema types guarantee AI citation?

No - schema is necessary infrastructure, not a guarantee. It makes facts about your business machine-readable and verifiable, which measurably helps, but content quality and entity consistency still matter alongside it.

What's the difference between this and the full AEO Score tool?

This tool is a focused, single-purpose schema check. The full AEO Score tool runs 21 real checks across schema, on-page fundamentals, AI crawler access, and discoverability files - this is one slice of that larger picture.

Why does 'Types: LocalBusiness, FAQPage' matter beyond the Pass/Fail rows?

It's the real, raw list of every schema type actually found on the page - useful for confirming whether a type you expected but didn't ask about explicitly (like Service or Product) is genuinely there too.

Does this tool work on pages behind a login?

No - it can only fetch genuinely public pages, the same way any AI crawler would encounter your site. A page requiring authentication can't be checked by this or any external tool.

How often should I re-check a page's schema?

After any real change - a redesign, a CMS migration, a theme update - since these are the real, common moments schema markup silently breaks without anyone noticing in normal visual QA.

Does Article schema apply to a regular business page, or only blog posts?

Genuinely only blog posts, news content, or similar article-format pages - applying Article schema to a static service page would be inaccurate structured data, which this tool won't reward.

Is there a limit to how many pages I can check?

The rate limit exists to keep this a genuinely usable free tool for everyone, not to discourage real, legitimate use - check as many real pages on your own site as you need, spaced across the allowed rate.

Does this tool store the URLs I check?

The domain checked is recorded for our own internal visibility into how the tool is used, alongside a best-effort location - your specific results aren't shared anywhere.

What should I do first if multiple schema types show as missing?

Organization or LocalBusiness schema first - it's the foundational identity layer everything else builds on, and the one AI systems check most consistently across every query type.

Does this validator check schema on both English and Arabic versions of a page?

Yes - submit each language version's real URL separately. Schema on your Arabic pages needs to be genuinely present and correct independently, not assumed to carry over from the English version.

I fixed my schema - how quickly will AI systems notice the change?

AI platforms re-crawl and re-evaluate sources on their own independent schedule, not instantly - a genuine fix here is a real, necessary first step, but seeing it reflected in actual citation can take real time to show up.
