Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 2026
Most cookie policies are long because most sites use a lot of cookies. This one is short, because we don't.
The one cookie this site sets
airankings.net sets exactly one cookie: a session cookie used to keep our
admin team logged in to the content management system after they sign in at
/admin/. It's marked HttpOnly, Secure, and
SameSite=Lax — standard, strictly-necessary security settings. If
you're a public visitor browsing the site, this cookie is never set for you at
all, because you never hit the admin login flow.
What we don't use
No Google Analytics. No Meta Pixel. No advertising retargeting tags. No
third-party tracking scripts of any kind. We don't build an advertising profile
of visitors because we don't run advertising on this site. Your language
(English or Arabic) lives in the URL path — /en/ or /ar/ —
not a cookie, so switching languages never depends on your browser remembering
anything.
Why we don't ask for cookie consent on every page
A consent banner is meant to ask permission for cookies that aren't strictly necessary — analytics, advertising, personalization. Since we don't set any of those, there's nothing to ask permission for. We still show a brief, one-time notice on your first visit, linking here, because we'd rather over-disclose than leave you guessing.
If this ever changes
If we ever add analytics or any non-essential cookie in the future, we'll update this page first, and add a real accept/reject consent choice at that point — not before it's true.
